Reception Hall    posted 12/10/2013 (updated 12/11/2013)

Great place for a wedding reception. Needs more lighting but worked for the decorations we had.

Front Street Civic Center    posted 5/21/2013

I was very pleased with the quality I received from my time spent at Front Street Civic Center. It doesn't look like much at first, but once we decorated and changed the lighting a bit, it looked fantastic. I loved the view of the river from all of the windows in the main room...it almost served as its own decoration because it was such beautiful scenery. I was able to go inside a few times before the wedding in order to look around and get a feel for the building and how I wanted to do things on the day of the wedding. I never had a problem getting the key or getting answers to my questions. It was only $500 to rent the entire building, and it comfortably fit all 135 of my guests. I would certainly recommend it.

Fine    posted 1/23/2012

Front Street is a clean hall off of water, which is why we chose the site. It is kind of old but not hard to make look nice! Great for price, only complaint was the day of the wedding the power kept going out and the refridgerator was broken and they didn't call and let us know that it couldn't be used. Other than that it was fine.

Great Spot for a Wedding    posted 1/12/2012

The Front Street Civic Center had ample room and beautiful scenery. It's a great facility if you want to plan every detail and customize your event from start to finish. There are also abundant places for photo opportunities and my guests really enjoyed themselves.

Reception    posted 6/1/2011

The location was beautiful (we had the ceremony outside and the rain held off until just after we finished). We had plenty of space (120 guests) for eating and dancing. It was very convenient to go inside after the ceremony for the reception and there was plenty of parking.

Front Street - eh...    posted 9/21/2010

My Partner and I chose Front Street as our wedding venue because of the cost, the gazebo and the view. We put the deposit down on the venue in March of 2010 for our September 4, 2010 wedding. The staff at the Melbourne hall was ok. They certainly didn't go above and beyond like the ereat of our vendors. The cost grew because we were not told that even though we rented the venue, we didn't have access to the gazebo. The fine pit in the contract also stipulates that inyou do rent the gazebo you can't being the chairs outside for the ceremony. The day before our wedding we went to pay the second deposit of 300 and to pick up the keys. We had to wait over an hour because no one was in the office from 11:30 to 1:30. And then the girl wouldn't give the keys to my fiancee'. What a pain in the neck! When my buddies went to decorate the room it was dirty. Oh - also - you cant use candles and can only decorate with scotch tape. Anyway - the wedding was great - my friends decorated for six hours before the ebtm and all turned out great - but it definitely wasn't an easy process! You get what you pay for here - for sure.

I loved the fact that it was on the river. The view was spectacular, and people could take their drinks outside by the water. It also made a great setting for pictures. I also had the opportunity to decorate it any way that I wanted.;It is and older facility, so it needs to be dressed up with decorations.

The waterview was amazing!;The dance floor was somewhat difficult to create in the area designated due to the number of guests we had.
