Our wedding was everything we have ever hoped for and more. The wedding cake was so beautiful and sensibly elegant and chic as we discussed with our wedding cake maker/ designer. Our guests, gave us compliments about how the cake was so moist and delicious, however, no words were really needed due to consumed masterpiece. Thank you Texas Howdy Bakery for staying and cutting our cake, I know that wasn't the plan but we thank you for being flexible and tending to us on this special day. We can't thank you enough for our Perfect Wedding Cake and for the love you put into your ingrediants and design; our guests truly enjoyed the Wedding Cake and I know they will never forget it, as we will never forget it either.

Venue we used for our wedding uses this bakery for their cakes. At first she seemed easy to work with, she had a few samples of cake for us to try, some were good and other samples were not. They were not knock your socks off good, but that was not the issues with the cakes. The first consultation that we had with Dora we explained to her what we wanted for both the Wedding Cake and Grooms Cake and the flavors. This was about a year out from our wedding. A few months later we had another follow up consultation with Dora, this time with sample photos of cakes and simple designs we liked for both cakes. We left the meeting feeling like we were on the same page. This was not so when we got a call from the venue a few weeks before the wedding. The wedding cake we wanted a 3 tiered cake, each tier slightly off set from the first and the design on each tier different with a small bow on the center tier. Her design was no where close to this and we tried to clear it up. The grooms cake was going to be just like the Wedding cake just slightly different, almost "mad hatter" like with color. She had in her mind fire works and big over the top designs for the grooms cake which were not even close to what we discussed. Again the picture we supplied her for the cake didn't help her make the design. We had to opt for mini pies for the grooms cake since she had no clue what we wanted. The Wedding day came and she was late to set up the cake , which she quickly did and ran off fast before we could talk with her. The cake was TOTALLY WRONG! it was as if she forgot that she had to make it and quickly did it in an hour. All the tiers were the same design and not off set. The tiers were all different heights and no center bow, just ribbons around each tier. The Grooms Cake "pies" were not what we asked for, and tasted horrible. Sorry to say, we will not be recommending Texas Howdy Bakery to anyone. The cakes didn't ruin the wedding but we were extremely DISAPPOINTED.
ETA: The Anniversary Cake was part of the deal worked out with the Inn, since it was part of the deal we wanted it before we moved. We met with baker multiple times (3) to try and relay the plan. When she delivered the cakes she left quickly without talking to any of the family or wedding planner. A good note was the cake did taste good, however it was not "fabulous" since it seemed like it was made last minute and quickly dropped off late.

Dora was my first choice to do my cake. She was wonderful. My fiance couldn't come to cake tasting, but she sent me home with cake for him to try. He both loved it and knew she was the right person. She is a one woman show, so at times it was difficult to get a hold of her. But on my wedding day my cake was delicious and she added lemon bars, which were to die for.
