I just had my wedding at Smithville Inn on August 24th. The scenery behind the building and the surrounding area are beautiful, especially great for romantic pictures. The food served was delicious and there was a lot of it. The cashew chicken during cocktail hour was my favorite. The dinner was good, the only issue I had was that the vegetarian meal we had at our tasting was not the same as the meal that was served at the actual reception. The pasts dish replacement was not as nice as the original dish. The set up was done just the way I asked, the tables looked perfect. The head server was fantastic and kept coming over to us throughout the night to make sure we had drinks and everything we needed. Overall, the Inn did everything they could to make the night enjoyable for all of our guests and for ourselves!

It's been a year since our wedding at Smithville Inn and people are still telling us how beautiful and amazing our wedding day was! The food was so incredible that night, and the service was perfect! The room itself has such rustic charm and we loved the wall of windows that reflected the candlelight... It was So romantic! The staff is so friendly and accommodating - and they know exactly how things should flow that planning everything was a breeze! We like to go back often and have dinner - and we always have to order the shrimp app we had during the cocktail hour!! So good!!!

I can't say enough about this wonderful venue and staff. I just got married here and it was a beautiful and amazing day. Heather is organized, friendly and extremely helpful. Tony was great as well! The staff was attentive and always making sure we were having a great time. The food is also delicious! Our guests still tell us that it was one of the best weddings that they have ever been to.
Between the dinner, dancing and beautiful atmosphere we had the perfect day! I highly recommend this venue to any future brides.

Our wedding at the Smithville Inn was nothing but wonderful. The venue, food, and decorations were perfect and all my guests had nothing but great things to say. Heather made it so easy to plan and keep in touch. My wedding day was exactly what I pictured! I would highly recommend The Smithville Inn for any size wedding.

My husband & I were married at the Smithville Inn on May 31, 2013! We did a lot of research before selecting our venue. We were looking for something different than your typical "ballroom" & we found it at the Smithville Inn. It's very rustic & beautiful. We had an outdoor ceremony, right on the lake. Our cocktail hour was also held outside, and the reception was indoors. We had 105 ppl, the food was amazing, the staff was great, they were very reasonable & accommodating. Heather was more than helpful from start to finish. She really cared about what we wanted and worked hard to make sure everything was perfect. All of our guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to & they just loved the adorable, one of a kind, little town of Smithville! Most everyone stayed right in the village, which made it super easy and fun for everyone! I highly recommend having your wedding here!!! There were so many awesome places to take pictures in the village. We had the perfect wedding !! Thanks Heather!! Xo

On May 10,2013 we had our wedding at the Smithville Inn. It was absolutely beautiful!! The grounds were pristine, the food impeccable, the service outstanding!! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding coordinator than Heather Cramer, she walked us through everything (& believe me I had alot of questions!!). The night was magical!! All of our guests felt like guests of honor. The food was hot and the drinks cold!! Every detail was accomplished to the smallest details and Heather and her staff went above and beyond. If anyone is looking for a romantic and beautiful setting they must trust Heather and the Smithville Inn to make it happen!! Thank you to all of the Smithville Inn staff!! You all made our day perfect!!

Smithville was the perfect place right from the start. My husband proposed to me there which made the little town and the Smithville Inn a special place to start with. We got married outside and were lucky enough to have perfect weather! (Although another reason we liked this venue is that the room they offer in case of rain, is also quite charming). The great bay room where we had the reception was beautiful-- surrounded by windows, watching the sun go down, all of our guests commented on how wonderful it was! The town itself is also nice for guests to visit :)
The staff is also excelled and Heather, the event coordinator is EXCELLENT. She was very genuine and patient with all of our questions and concerns. We will definitely be going back just to visit! I loved everything about this venue and would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

The Smithville Inn is exactly the type of place I always imagined getting married. But the Smithville well exceeded my expectations. From my interactions with the wedding coordinating staff to the exceptional food & service we received at the reception I could not have been more satisfied with my big day. Heather & Ally were wonderful & so accomodating - I was always easily able to get in touch with them to address issues. The venue itself is amazing - beautiful & rustic, a perfect setting for an intimate affair. My husband & I have received numerous compliments about the food during both the cocktail hour & reception as well as the service. The most popular compliment - "The filet was like BUTTER; just absolutely cooked perfectly!" I would definetly recommend the Smithville Inn to any South Jersey bride looking for a unique, intimate setting.

We chose Smithville for several reasons, including ambiance, beautiful grounds, great reviews, and price. In planning, we worked w/ Heather, who was responsive to both phone calls & emails, and always pleasant & available when we needed a face to face meeting. Heather was good at reminding us of certain things, & decisions, we didn't really know what we were doing & at times we thought she was too relaxed, but it worked out perfectly, so trust her she knows what she's doing. When time came closer to the day she walked through everything w/ us that we needed for the day of, in great detail.
We got married Octoberfest weekend & were planning to stay at the Colonial Inn there, about a year before the big day Heather found out we hadn't reserved our rooms, & some rooms were booked. She called us right away and made sure we blocked out the rooms we needed ASAP. She saved us a great deal of anguish as it booked up quickly b/c of the festivities.
Heather was accommodating in substituting out one of the imports with my favorite beer at no additional costs. Don't be afraid to ask about changing something - they were willing to accommodate anyway they could our preferences.
The weekend of we worked with Heather and her assistant Ally - and everything went very smooth. Rehearsal was great - Heather & Ally were great in taking control of our large group & going over everything with us.
The day of, Heather & Ally were always around. I needed someone to cut my dress (it had ripped a little on the bottom), Heather was right away with scissors. Ally was always coming up to me and my hubby and making sure we were okay, that we had a drink in our hand. She always made sure I had my Guinness! She had a waiter bring some food to the bridal suite for me and my hubby when she realized I hadn't been eaten much during cocktail hour.
The service was just fantastic. I have had several of my guests tell me what excellent service they had and how polite the wait staff was. We never hard a dish fall the whole evening, I barely noticed the wait staff either - They were so good and quick at bringing out food and clearing dishes. The food was excellent too.
Smithville set up our center pieces, table escort cards, ceremony stuff, our guest sign in tree, baskets for the bathrooms. They did it all perfectly and we picked up everything from them the next morning.
We asked if we could decorate the arbor for the ceremony, & they let us do that as well.
Our shuttle ran late, Heather held up the ceremony
The change from ceremony to cocktail hour (in the garden patio) was flawless. Within moments, table & chairs were out and our guests were getting food & drinks.
The area for reception is plenty big, and although the dance floor was packed all night, we had room to shake and move (over 100 guests). The reception is cut off from the rest of the restaurant, even the bathrooms our guests use, so your party is really a private affair. Especially since everyone enters/exits from the side of the Inn. I am not a fan of those places who do several events/weddings at a time. This was very intimate, personal, unique, homey and beautiful.
We were permitted to take pics anywhere on the grounds, although the festival did affect that, we made the most of it. We felt like King and Queen of Smithville, everyone at the Smithville Inn treated us like royalty that weekend. I think staying at Colonial Inn helped enhance our experience too.

My fiance and I visited 17 venue sites all over PA and NJ when we were planning our wedding. We knew we wanted an outdoor ceremony, a historic/rustic vibe, and great food. We literally drove hours to some venues but it wasn't until we visited the Smithville Inn that we knew we'd found our spot (don't get me wrong, we were still torn between Smithville and one other place, but we decided to pull the trigger on Smithville--and we are SO glad we did).
Nestled within the historic town of Smithville (about 10 minutes from AC and an hour from Philly, where we live) the Inn used to be an old stagecoach stop (the one room is still very much functioning too!). As the years progressed, more was added on and it eventually became a delightfully quaint restaurant (though it isn't as if you'll see a restaurant patron the whole time during your event, it's completely in a different area of the space). The actual town of Smithville has a "kid friendly" side (which we didn't use much) and an adult side (think: winery, record store, lingerie shop, antique stores) so there was stuff for our guests to do once they arrived and before the ceremony started. The venue really could not be more comfortable and beautiful. Heather, our wedding planner, was with us the whole time and always got back to our NUMEROUS questions within a day or so (who the heck knows what they are doing when they get married? I sure didn't!) All of her recommendations for florists, bakeries, etc, were spot on (definitely go to Pocket full of Posies and Bakeworks, they are just as great to work with and their services are top notch).
I got so many compliments on the ceremony site (Heather even had a new gate and pergola put in weeks before our ceremony which really made the photos pop). Another thing I'm still hearing about is the FOOD. Ohmygod THE FOOD was a huge hit. Honestly, considering the location, ambiance, and staff, I didn't expect that the food would be that good (and was willing to take the hit) but it does not disappoint. It was even better at the actual event than at the tasting too. For the price of the plate, you also get tons of passed appetizers, cold stations and a chef station at cocktail hour. Not to mention AMAZING soups/salads and out-of-this world entrees (get the Filet, it does not disappoint and is worth the few extra dollars). The bar was full stocked with whatever we wanted--no questions--and the bartenders and staff were beyond helpful and attentive.
Honestly, book this place now. The price was at least 30$ cheaper per head than anywhere else we looked and we got so much more (and the quality is not comprised whatsoever). Book your wedding here before the prices go way up--because they will. The Smithville Inn and their staff are a real gem. I feel like tearing up just writing this review and I'm not a crier at all. Just go visit. Meet with Heather, feel relaxed and enjoy the ride. There are too many decisions and things to do when you plan your wedding that can stress you out. Don't let your venue choice be one of them. It's a no brainer really. If you want the stylemepretty.com or DIY vibe without all the WORK, pick the Smithville. It's a magazine spread waiting to happen.
Much love to the Smithville folks. We'll be back year after year for anniversary dinners I'm sure (and will one day hopefully bring our future kids and check out that kiddie side of the town!)

I have been going to Smithville since I was a young girl and have always loved it. I got married at the Smithville Inn on 10/30/10 and it was absolutely wonderful. Heather handles EVERYTHING for you, so you never stress, the grounds and Inn are beautiful and it is affordable. My wedding party and guests stayed at the Colonial Inn for the weekend and it was hands down the best time ever.
The food and service at the Smithville Inn the day of my wedding was impeccable and I have gotten so many compliments on how great my wedding was. I highly recommend the Smithville Inn to any bride that wants to ensure her wedding day is flawless and memorable for everyone involved.
Thank you so much for your positive response, and personal compliment. It was my pleasure to assist you in anything you needed to make your perfect. I hope to see you soon for your anniversary!

There is not one thing I would change about the day of my wedding. Throughout the entire planning process, the Smithville Inn was very accomodating. I have never seen a more beautiful room and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this vendor to brides looking for a memorable and perfect wedding experience.

I have loved the Smithville Inn since I was a little girl, so I knew it was the perfect spot for our wedding. The best part about this venue is that it is unpretentious, yet extremely elegant. Cozy and warm, yet large enough to accommodate bigger parties. The two main wedding planners are on top of EVERYTHING and are extremely personable. They can work with you if you're on a budget, yet there plenty of add-ons if you want to go big! The food is always fantastic at the restaurant, and the wedding food was no exception. Great cocktail hour and sit down dinner, and all of the vendors suggested by the Inn were great too. Guests raved about the decor and food, and many said it was the nicest wedding they had ever been to. I would highly recommend the Smithville Inn for a wedding venue.

we had a small intimate immediate family only wedding and had a wonderful time - food was exceptional, they have a great staff / banquet coordinator Heather was always available for any concerns or questions. We did manage to get our outdoor ceremony done in the outdoor garden area before the rains came - but it didn't ruin our day the interior was decorated nicely in an autumn theme we were able to take pictures inside....My out of town family want to return to the village as a day trip and have dinner at the Inn again.

We were initially drawn to The Smithville Inn because it wasn't a typical wedding venue. There was so much vintage character in the building and its surroundings. When we met the banquet manager Heather Cramer I knew we would be in good hands! She had alot of great ideas and worked with us to make our whole vision come together. She worked with all of our vendors so the cake, band, and flowers were all arranged perfectly when I walked into the reception room. Heather is always easy to reach by phone or email. Oh and the food is amazing!

My husband and I had our reception at The Smithville Inn on June 29, 2013. Before booking here, I had visited 10 other places. The feeling I got when I walked into The Smithville Inn didn't even compare. It was like I knew the second we walked in that it was THE place!
I have to say it was better than I ever could've imagined!! The reception room was set up exactly how I pictured in my head! We had forgot a few things that were supposed to be brought the day before and Heather was so understanding! I will say I was a little worried about the food since we requested a second tasting. Don't even worry about that!! The food was great and everyone was raving about cocktail hour. Heather really went above and beyond. We chose a spiked Arnold Palmer as our signature drink and she went as far as sweetening their unsweetened ice tea to make it happen! The courtyard and village are beautiful! We had reserved rooms at The Barn and The Colonial Inn so all guests could walk to their rooms. Fred and Ethel's was the perfect place for an after party. We used their bakery for our cake and it was amazing (that is coming from someone who has high cake standards)! We also used one of their recommended DJs, and he kept the party going all night. Have your wedding here, you won't be disappointed!!

The Smithville Inn did an amazing job for my wedding. My ceremony and reception were held at this location. Heather (wedding coordinator) was amazing. She was very attentive to me. Any questions or concerns I had, She answered and put my mind at easy. The staff at the Smithville Inn was awesome!!! The bartenders were quick and made all the drinks perfectly. The Head waitress was extremely attentive to me and my husband. She made sure that our drinks were always full and that we had warm food on our plates. At the end of the night, She packed up and organized all our stuff (flowers, topper cake, toasting glasses, serving set, mirrors etc.). She put everything on a cart and put it aside so we could get it all the next day. The whole wedding experience will Smithville Inn was perfect. I would recommend this venue to everyone I know.

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Smithville Inn and overall we were very happy! After we picked the venue and the food they handled everything else. The room was set up (and looked beautiful) when we arrived. We didnt want to put a lot of money, effort or decor in since it was just a rehearsal dinner but they made the room look gorgeous with candles, centerpieces and even fresh flowers on the buffet. My only complaint (very minor) was that things seemed to be a bit behind schedule...they were finishing set up in the room when we arrived and dinner service was a little behind. Overall a great experience. The room (overlooking the pond) and venue are beautiful.

Tony, Heather, Allie and the entire team at the Smithville Inn were extremely accommodating during our wedding planning process. I have been a professional DJ for over 15 years and have been inside at least half of the wedding venues in the state. While seeking a venue for my own wedding, we wanted something unique (without the tacky décor and generic ambience). The Smithville Inn was the perfect place for us to pull off our vintage/rustic/country theme.
The back patio on the lake was gorgeous, but we had a rainy wedding day. Fortunately, the staff was tremendously prompt to move the ceremony inside. Honestly, the indoor ceremony space was surprisingly picturesque with the windows overlooking the garden and the cozy fireplace lit with candles.
I am a very fastidious person when it comes to event planning, but there were very few items that did not exceed my expectations on our special day. We are so grateful to have had such a fantastic venue and team to work with at the Smithville Inn.

My husband and I got married at The Smithville Inn on 4/27/13. Our ceremony was outside and reception inside. It was the first and only venue we looked at - we knew immediately that its rustic and charming feel was perfect for us. The town of Smithville itself is quaint and beautiful, so we knew our guests would enjoy exploring it before the ceremony. The event coordinator, Heather, was very helpful leading up to the day and answered all of our questions promptly. On the day of the wedding, everything was beautiful and went flawlessly! Heather's assistant helped us all day and Heather walked through frequently to make sure everything was going smoothly. The waitstaff was very attentive towards me - making sure I had a drink at all times, encouraging me to actually eat, etc. which is very helpful as a bride since you have a million things to keep track of. We had compliments from our guests all day about the deliciousness of the food and niceness of the venue. All in all, the day was beautiful in every way and I have only positive things to say about The Smithville Inn and its staff. They will work to help make your day as perfect and stress-free as possible!
