We recently had our wedding reception at Wild Dunes. We started with a cocktail reception at the Grand Pavilion followed by dinner and dancing in the Sweetgrass Pavilion. The food was yummy, the venues were perfect for our needs and our guests who stayed at the resort really enjoyed the accommodations. Samantha Martin, the catering manager, was very responsive throughout the entire process. She put together a great package for us that helped us really take advantage of all the amenities of the resort. It was a beautiful event that we will always remember.

What's not to like about Wild Dunes? Our beach-side ceremony was lovely and the weather cooperated for a beautiful day. There aren't many places in the Charleston area where one can have a beach wedding and then have a wonderful reception within walking distance. And there's no traffic! All of the employees are more than pleasant and very accommodating. Samantha Martin is a fabulous coordinator. Pricey? Yes. But everything went seamlessly and it was a destination wedding that will be remembered as "wonderful" by many people for a long time.

I don't think I can adequately put into words just how appreciative we are to Samantha Martin, the wedding coordinator at the Wild Dunes Resort. She is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is incredibly organized, efficient, sweet and friendly. When we were looking at possible venues in the Charleston area, we found a few that we really liked. To us, what set Wild Dunes apart from the others was Samantha. It felt like I was planning our wedding with a close friend - we knew that our wedding was in excellent hands. We had originally planned for an outside ceremony, cocktail hour and reception on the resort. When it started to rain on our wedding day, she provided a plan b, c and d! Talk about customer service!! The entire Wild Dunes staff treated us and our guests with a level of customer service that we have never experienced before....and I work with a lot of hotels in my day job. While it didn't go as planned, our wedding day was absolutely perfect and I have Samantha and the Wild Dunes' staff to thank.

Overall, Wild Dunes Resort was a beautiful location and very accomodating to us and our guests. While reservations was often challenging to work with, Samantha Martin and Erica Nabors always supported us to get things straightened out in time for the wedding. Their food was excellent. If you are looking for an all inclusive package however, be aware that you still need to rent linens, decor, and chairs (or slip covers). The Sweetgrass Pavilion was a beautiful space and the guest rooms were perfect. The Lettered Olive is where we had the rehearsal dinner, and they were absolutely amazing too. Everything is so close together that it was very convenient.

We had a destination wedding at the Wild Dunes, using the Grand Pavillion for the ceremony and Palmetto Hall for our reception. We had a small wedding that the Wild Dunes helped make feel intimate and wonderful. They were very accommodating to us, our families and our wedding planner to make the weekend special and beautiful.
You do need to stay on top of the accommodations team as many of our rooms were changed from what we were told.
Our only issue was some customized food we requested was not prepared as asked. The worked hard during the night to help solve the problem the best they could though.

Wild Dunes is a wonderful place to get married!! We had such a great experience from the beginning of our planning process to the day of the wedding. We held all of our wedding events at Wild Dunes and could not have been more pleased with the quality, professionalism, and excitement of everyone we worked with to make our day happen! We planed our wedding from out of town and sent many emails during the process and all my emails were answered quickly which made planing no stress! The food was delicious and the event staff was wonderful. I loved that Wild Dunes can provide all your catering needs from rehearsal dinner, to wedding day of, to the cake! I sent one picture of the cake I wanted and picked flavors and day of the cake was perfect! Our guest loved being at Wild Dunes, and enjoyed all wedding events being on site. Which allowed everyone to have a fun weekend without traveling to different sites for ceremony and reception. I truly felt like a MVP bride the entire week we were at Wild Dunes leading up to our wedding. I would do the entire wedding again and not change a thing, Wild Dunes is great!

I cannot say enough about Wild Dunes! We absolutely LOVED our wedding weekend! As the bride I felt so special throughout the whole experience. We began planning in January with Melissa Moxely who made everything possible. Melissa took another position, which left me worried about who we would be paired up with - Reilly Mariotti turned out to be our person! She did not disappoint us at all! We are so happy we chose Wild Dunes.
Onto the specs - we loved that our families were able to stay in beachfront homes - The one my family got was perfect with a 12 person dining table for both sides of the family to join together and eat dinner. This is one of the main reasons we chose Wild Dunes - for the amazing accommodations. There are so many different options available. We know that we will be able to go back year after year...by ourselves, with the kids, or even with the entire family. It offers so much. It was also perfect for our guests who were able to stay for several days in regular hotel rooms...or like some stay rent a condo and enjoy the beach.
The croquet lawn offered a beautiful wedding ceremony - again Reilly managed it all and was superb! We had our reception at the Boardwalk Inn Poolside which was perfect for our small gathering. The food that Wild Dunes catered was outstanding! We had a smores bar too! We opted for the chicken, potatoes, and vegetables and it was the best we had ever had!
We also had our rehearsal dinner at the village amphitheater - this was a perfect spot for a small gathering of our family and friends. We were fortunate enough to invite everyone to the wedding and the rehearsal dinner - Reilly managed all of this too - wonderful! We had the Beach BBQ. YUM!
We also enjoyed coming to the village store to get breakfast in the mornings. They had fresh breakfast for $6 and it was really good. Bacon, eggs, grits, or hashbrowns, biscuit. What every bride needs before the big day!
I highly recommend Wild Dunes!

Everything was amazing! It was my dream wedding location and everything was even more beautiful than I imagined. Samantha Martin was the day of coordinator and she was great to work with. Very responsive and always upbeat and positive. She made my wedding day planning all come together! It was a little expensive but it was worth every penny!

At first glance this resort looks extremely pricey but talk to their wedding coordinators Samantha and Melissa and they will do everything they can to work with you if you want to get married there. We had a very small budget ($10k for everything, even our lodging and travel).
Melissa Moxley was terrific, she really helped make our wedding day perfect. We even ended up having our rehearsal dinner at the Lettered Olive on site. We got married on the boardwalk, had photos in their parks and private beach, had our reception in their Sweetgrass Pavilion and we loved every minute of it. All of our guests raved about the resort and the wedding. Melissa has a great personality and perfect attention to detail. The food was delicious and they worked around my allergies as well as some guest food allergies.
The resort is pricey but it is worth every penny. You can find deals for renting the houses in the resort on other websites. You can also get good discounts on the rooms in the Village and Boardwalk Inn off other sites or on the wild dunes specials link. The prices they gave us for guests to rent houses and rooms was pretty high compared to using other sites to book rooms at the resort. Sometimes the resort has specials on their site that includes food credits which is great the morning after your married and you want room service.

They were overpriced. Ridiculously overpriced. We found out you could rent one of the GORGEOUS southern mansions for a week for less than we paid. However, they pour their drinks stron and the private beach was beautiful. Overall we really enjoyed our vacation, we just felt a tad ripped off.

My wedding was held on the North Lawn at Wild Dunes. It was a beautiful, natural venue. We needed minimal ceremony decorations (which saved $$). Our wedding coordinator was fabulous. She was very easy to get in touch with, was helpful in every way, very organized, and made sure the wedding ran smoothly and was everything I wanted. Make sure your guests know that it is a gated community. Some of our guests were a little confused as to where to go inside Wild Dunes. However, there was complimentary valet parking for all guests which was very convenient once they reached the Boardwalk Inn. We held our reception off site because the food/beverage prices were very high, and we were told by many people that the food was not very good. Overall, I am so pleased that we held our ceremony here. It provided a breathtaking backdrop for wedding ceremony photos.

We couldn't have asked for any more from Wild Dunes. Samantha, their wedding specialist is nothing short of amazing. The food was awesome and we got many comments that it was the best food many of our guests had ever had at a wedding. We couldn't have been happier!!! (*note..our total cost reflects venue, food and top shelf open bar for over 100)

Wild Dunes was the perfect place for our wedding! We loved that all of our guests could stay right on the resort together. We held several events at Wild Dunes over the weekend (Bridesmaids luncheon, pre-wedding barbecue, post-wedding brunch) and it made for such a fun weekend! We were so happy with the service - their on-site coordinator Samantha is amazing and made sure everything ran smoothly. We planned the wedding from out of town, and they were so easy to work with and quick to help. The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the entire wedding was perfect!
Wild Dunes provided us with 3 hours the evening before for our rehearsal and dinner. We chose a casual buffet by the beach. It was a fun and enjoyable dinner. The servers were wonderful. It was a windy night, a storm was coming in; some of the women chose sleevless sundress and were a little cold. The servers actually provided some unused clean linens to drape over their shoulders. We unexpectedly had a vegetarian and the kitchen was able to provide him with a meal with in minutes.
I am sure this is a biased review because at the time of my wedding I was also an employee of the resort. The resort gives you a coordinator who tried her hardest to keep us on time. She orchestrated arrangements with the photographer, dj, and officiant. We were provided with seperate getting ready rooms and a beautfiul suite for the night after. COmplimentary valet parking for all of our guests. The food was done on site, and tasted fabulous. We had a very elegant plated dinner with a beer and wine bar. The resort also hosted our rehearsal dinner, which was very casual and by the beach.

Wild Dunes was absolutely fantastic. The staff, the Executiuve Director - Terri Haack, the service by Jurgeen, the people were absolutely amazing. Our guests stayed in villas, condos, and hotels - there was not one complaint - none at all. approximately 48% of the guests were form out of tow - many never having been to SC and they fell inlove with the location, the people and the simplicity yet elegance of it all. Thanks to everyone who made our wedding event a dream come true - it definitely exceeded all of our expectations. i WOULD DO IT ALL AGAIN, WITH THE SAME MAN AT THE SAME LOCATION. THANK YOU WILD DUNES!;Wild Dunes is phenomenal be ready for your guests to be wowed! They will absolutely fall in love with this location - many of them wanting to move to Isle of Palms - so be careful - you might loose some folks if you are from out of towm :)!
